Lemans Classic 2016

Revalotti Racing 


The new team name for 2016.

We will be racing the Aston Martin DB2 lightweight LeMans plus the Alfa 2000GTV in an number of Touring car races over Europe.

Lap time 6 mins 42sec

No night practice : new master cylinder, new rear shoe Spring, blowing exhaust manifold, leaking
NG carburettors,   Total electrical failure. Therefore poor qualification and no night race.

1st Race:
Finished 21st row

2nd night race:
Started on row 12
Finished 12th
Best lap 5 mins 52secs

3rd Race:
Started on row 6
Finished 15th
Best lap 5mins 47secs

Overall 17th due to poor qualification and a missing laps from the results in both the 1st and 2nd races very odd.

Paul Ricard Dix Mille Tours Sixties Endurance

Sixties Endurance (Dix Mille Tours) 2014

Weather :- Warm, Dry and Sunny.

Paul Ricard Circuit with chicane on main straight.


 Test Day Thursday best lap 3.17 with no issues for the car, but a demanding circuit in this 1951 Aston, due to the many turns.


Managed to get passed a Gulf coloured Porsche 911 then past the E Type.

two extra pit stops due to smoke in the cockpit.

Qualifying:- 40 Mins:-

Grid:- 82 Cars

Position:- 61

Best Lap:- 3.02.208 Tim.

Race :- 2 Hours.

Grid :- 77

Position :- 43

Best Lap :- 2.58.580 Glynn.

2nd Overall in the Pre 63 GT 

4th Overall in The Performance of Index.



Last lap the rear diff blew and the half-shaft broke so Tim did very well to get the car around the last lap and across the chequered flag. We also noticed at the end the front left spinner on the wheel was missing only some broken threads were holding the wheel on.Thanks to Peter Auto (Patrick Peter) for a great meeting and Carol Spagg and Team for all the rose wine and support over the weekend.

Last half of the race the car was stuck in 3rd gear so we did very well to finish on the podium for 3rd in class.

Overall a very good and enjoyable Classic Le Mans even if very wet.
Must go again and hope for three dry races.
